Head to New Orleans For Drupal and All That Jazz!
While you are in New Orleans for the Drupal on ths Bayou Summit, spend an evening enjoying some of the fantastic music.
New Orleans: The Birthplace of Jazz
From the tribal dances and chants of West Indian slaves of African descent with their with stirring rhythms to the Jazz Age in Storyville, where early improvisational masters like King Oliver, his protégé Louis Armstrong, and Jelly Roll Morton (the first to set jazz compositions on paper) played, New Orleans has been the place to find great Jazz.
Since the pleasure-loving French founded the city on the Delta in 1718, music and dance have been the heart and soul of New Orleans. The music of Jazz, Blues, Zydeco and every more fills the streets and will keep your toes tappin’.
Today, a new Jazz generation has emerged under the tutelage of patriarch Ellis Marsalis. His sons – Wynton and Branford, and his one-time student Harry Connick, Jr., are some of the young musicians who have taken Jazz in new directions while rediscovering old standards.
As you walk down Bourbon Street or almost any of the other streets in the French Quarter, you will hear the sounds of New Orleans pouring out of cafes, nightclubs and music halls. Stop in and enjoy the sounds of New Orleans at popular Jazz clubs like these:

Drupal on the Bayou... she approaches!
Welcome, all, to Drupal on the Bayou... a Drupal Summit in New Orleans!
As with many of you, I'm new to Drupal. And I'm sure many of you can understand that putting this site together has been an interesting and ever-changing challenge. One that continues even now. Hence the... quirks you may find here. Think of them as educational opportunities!
Along the way I've begun to grasp the ridiculous flexibility and power that Drupal holds, and my concept of of how to best approach the concepts and the actual implementation is constantly evolving... but only rarely do I still cry myself to sleep at night, so that's something.
Right now, I think I like Drupal. A lot. And I know I have a hell of a lot more to learn about it before I have any semblance of using it properly.
So please bear with me, sign up, and attend Drupal in the Bayou! Come see me and tell me what's wrong with this site... oh, how I love the feedback.
Also, we need Session Submissions!
Seriously, think of a good idea... whether you want to present it or attend a session about it... and let us know. Voting to come, once I figure it out. Thanks!
And finally... It's a Drupal Summit held in NEW ORLEANS. At a CASINO, for Buytaert's sake! Drupal all day, Pai Gow all night... good lord, does it get any better? That amounts to perhaps the greatest Thursday EVER.
So sign up already. It'll rock. Now I am back to work.
